Traitors in the Kingsglaive. It made sense. The Empire had taken the Crystal far too easy. There would've been a lot more resistance with a whole team of trained Glaives standing between them and their prize. Another lie. Another betrayal. Prompto was beginning to question whether trust existed in the world at all.

It seemed like everybody was just stabbing everybody else in the back at every chance they got. Except, Noctis had pushed him down and protected him...

It would've been the perfect opportunity for Prompto to take out Noctis, Ignis, Gladio and Regis in one fell swoop if he so desired. One shot and Noct would be done for. The others just as easily. But instead, Prompto made a frantic grab for Noctis, pulling him back into the truck bed, doing his best to shield him. Given he was a matchstick in comparison to say, Gladio, he didn't provide much of a shield.

"Don't worry, your highness. I got your back." He held the elemancy flask in his hand, sucking in a breath to try and steady himself, praying to the Six he could make the shot. He threw the flask into the open window before grabbing his rifle for a swift head-shot on the driver for good measure.

Shooting MTs was one thing. But shooting a human? In the head? That emotional turmoil was something he would have to deal with eventually. For now he shoved it all down deep inside to focus on keeping Noctis safe.

"Is there a way to sever their connection to the King's magic? That would be useful right about now." The Glaives would probably keep coming. Just how many had turned their back on the King and sided with the Empire? How would Noctis be able to tell who could be trusted and who couldn't? How would Prompto know which ones to fill with bullets and which to spare?

Out of the frying pan and into the Infernian's volcano. "Stay down, highness. I'll keep you covered."
